2019 Interior Design Trend Projections

Happy Friday everyone!

Welcome to our design blog.

As always, a new year brings new changes in many areas. Although most changes in the new year are associated with the heart and mind, you can also change aspects of your home and built environment. In today's post, let's look at some of the projected home interior design trends from leading designers for 2019.

1: Bold Kitchens

Classic, monochromatic kitchens have been a popular trend for quite some time. We are starting to see a shift to colored cabinets, unconventional countertop materials, and bold backsplashes. In addition, styled open shelving is becoming more and more popular.

2. White Oak & Light Wood Millwork

Whether its kitchen cabinets, fireplace built-ins, or other millwork, natural white oak is being used in many new homes and home renovations. The subtle warmth provides a nice neutral tone to the color palette, which suits and compliments any style.

3. Light Wood Floors

Light wood floors are making an impression in a big way in new and upcoming projects. Much like light wood millwork, light wood floors add a soft earthy element to the space. It creates the perfect base element to any texture or color in the space.

4. Natural Elements and Materials

Within the times of smart devices, smart cars, and smart homes, designers and homeowners are beginning to choose authentic stone and wood materials to use in their space. Honoring materials in their natural finish is a great way to add texture and depth. This direction provides a contrast to today's technology and brings nature into the home.
